Bringing love into the world!
Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
The world is a difficult and challenging place for everyone. Having Autism especially makes it more difficult as I find that I am written off, not fully understood and often stigmatised. With such factors creating issues, I feel it necessary to broaden understanding into understanding the mind and functionality more in detail. Often the bigger questions are never asked such as why am I here? What role or purpose do I serve? How can there be more care and understanding when there is so much misunderstanding if that makes sense?
As I create this page, I find it not an easy process to really know how to target a specific audience but what I do feel is most essential is having a strong faith. For me this is knowing God through Jesus Christ. So many people today, especially young people seem reluctant or perhaps confused as to how to find purpose and meaning in their lives and this applies perhaps to everyone. Having faith in Jesus is about directly support to where it is most needed and to get things happening. Support and community are so urgently needed in the areas of health, mental health, social isolation and community. I feel personally that organisations which are supposed to be helping and assisting those in need have seemed to have lost their way.
Sadly we live in a world where people seem to have a focus on self and a secular way of existence which tends to exclude people like myself from being fully known and better understood within the community. I find for instance so many younger men are stuck on their phones in a world of expansive Information Technology feeling a sense of connection from other people around them. Perhaps younger men are needing a greater sense of purpose and leadership skills to assist them in moving forward. It is important I feel to have a oneness with Christ but to live in the world and not be of the world as one moves forward in life. Having a faith in God is also about bringing God's love through Christ into the world by allowing Jesus to shine through one's life and assisting the glory of God to touch the lives of others. In other words being a light in the world to allow others to feel a greater sense of empowerment.
it is important to assist men on the Autism Spectrum and the wider community in finding a sense of purpose and identity when often there can be a feeling of despair and haplessness. To help overcome social isolation and to deal with the challenges of mental health, community engagement in playing chess, and participating in community connections is encouraged. It would be good to ensure that support goes to where it is most needed.
