Navigating the NDIS as an adult on the Autism Spectrum

For many adults on the Autism Spectrum the journey forward can be both overwhelming and difficult.  Not knowing the future can be very difficult and there is often a concern about the future, especially when it comes to what happens after the parents are unable to provide support and care.  Since 2018, I have been working through the NDIS to see how I can ensure that it supports me and to reach the best outcome.  With a great deal of hard work and dedication, I have managed to get my NDIS plan working and to try my best to reach the best possible outcome as well as my personal goals.

It takes a lot of work to find the right plan to suit one's needs as well as contacting the best person to assist with plan goals and outcome.  I am currently working through my NDIS plan and have some awesome support workers as well as a good Plan Manager and a newly appointed Support Coordinator.  My NDIS plan also has support with counselling and PhysioTherapy as well as Occupational Therapy and an Exercise Physiologist.  It is my hope that with my plan working and in place that it can provide a pathway forward not only for myself but for future generations of adults on the Autism Spectrum who are finding it difficult to get on board with the NDIS and to make it work!

Should you need any advice on putting a plan together through the NDIS please be sure to get in touch with me via this webpage on the contact page as I am more than happy to assist you with any queries you may have?

Currently there is a lot of difficulty for adults on the Autism Spectrum particularly to get on board with the NDIS and I am doing the best I can to help the NDIS understand that the Autism Spectrum is a lifelong condition and more importantly Support Workers are needed to provide social support to deal with the challenges of overcoming social isolation, depression as well as anxiety.
